	The primary mission of Mocha Moms, Inc. is to support and encourage women who are making parenting a priority in this season in their lives. Mocha Moms, Inc. was established as a support group for at-home mothers of color. It is not unlike many other support groups established for a particular segment of the population. Mocha Moms, Inc. has a policy of non-exclusivity and does not discriminate. It is not now nor has it ever been a closed group. Anyone who understands and supports our mission is welcome to join. This includes men and women of all socio-economic backgrounds, races and religions. Thank you for your interest in Mocha Moms, Inc. Mocha Moms, Inc. is essential because historically, mothers of color, particularly African-American mothers, have not had the opportunity to devote a significant amount of time caring for their own families. In fact, many people believe that African-American two-parent families with stay-at-home mothers do not even exist. Mocha Moms, Inc. exists, in part, to set the record straight. Families of color are making great sacrifices in order to provide their children with the best child care available – mother care. Further, they are doing so with little support from society at-large and sometimes without the approval and understanding of members of their own families. The Metro Atlanta Mocha Moms is a group of dynamic and inspiring women with one thing in common: we have embarked upon an exciting, exhilarating, and rewarding journey called motherhood that will profoundly enrich our lives.

The Metro Atlanta Mocha Moms chapter started out with a handful of moms in 2004, today our chapter has over 100 members who reside throughout Metropolitan Atlanta -  from Cartersville to Newnan and everywhere in between.

Member Events and Activities

As our members reside throughout the metro Atlanta area, events and activities are held centrally within the Atlanta perimeter.  Our regularly scheduled get togethers allow us to:

• build friendships through bi-weekly support groups meetings, children's playgroups and fieldtrips.
• revive through moms only weekend activities,  spa days and our annual Mommy Retreat.
• connect our families through family activities and couples only events
• enjoy creative and intellectual pursuits through our scrap and chat club, book club and participation on our committees.
• share ideas and stay connected daily via our Yahoo group.
